Strip tension necessary to produce tight straight-wall slit coils is generated by a Pad Tensioner and a Non-Marking Roll Tensioner. The Pad Tensioner is engaged when slitting non-critical surface coil, and the Roll Tensioner is employed when processing bright and polished finish stainless coil. The Pad and Roll Tensioners can be engaged independently or in tandem. A guillotine Exit End Shear squares coil tails and eliminates the need to re-thread the line when splitting coils.

Globe Stainless' Recoiler is equipped with a 20" diameter rewind drum powered by a large DC motor driving through a parallel shaft helical gear reducer. A swing-out quick-change Overarm Separator is firmly supported from the Exit Unit to assure the Overarm tooling is square and parallel with the Recoiler when running. Pre-tooled Overarm arbors can be exchanged in about 2-minutes.

The main operator console is ergonomically designed to make operating the Slitting Line efficient and safe. Clear sight lines allow the operator to view the entire line without cameras and TV monitors.

A floor level Coil Car with "wireless" operator controls quickly unloads slit coils from the Recoiler and transports the coils to a Turnstile and Packaging Line. A power Turntable rotates the Coil Car 90-degrees to line-up with the Pack Line.

Slit coils generated from the Turret Head™ Slitting Line are quickly and efficiently strapped and packaged for shipment on a Slit Coil Packaging Line capable of handling from 1" through 16" wide coils. An "Operatorless" Programmable Downender automatically retrieves coils from the Turnstile and deposits them onto a conveyor line. Slit coils are efficiently strapped and transported to a stacking station where coils are palletized and wrapped for shipment.
